Linking Ethnic Data from Africa (LEDA)

We provide data and tools to link information from 11 data sets on African ethnicities. We match more than 8100 ethnic categories from individual-level surveys, geographic polygon data, and expert-coded lists to the Ethnologue linguistic trees and provide software that allows researchers to create binary links or linguistic distance measures between any two data sets or ethnic categories.
